Job Overview

樱花动漫 is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Data Scientist to join the AI Synapse team. Our charter is to build AI/Machine Learning solutions for 樱花动漫鈥檚 suite of financial products that drive quantifiable customer benefit through the state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multimodal Language Models. You will be part of a vibrant team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers and will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of AI/Machine Learning solutions to solve challenging problems in the space of document comprehension, LLM training (including prompt engineering, fine tuning, etc.), and multimodal data understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of AI/ML based solutions for solving challenging problems like document comprehension, embedding 樱花动漫’s domain expertise in fine tuned LLMs, and multimodal data understanding.
• Drive focused efforts on end-to-end data quality including monitoring the input data, performing comprehensive evaluation of model performance, and automating the data curation and model retraining processes in the face of evolving data distributions.
• Accelerate the pace of innovation by building quick prototypes for experimentation and scaling successful prototypes into deployed production systems.
• Create a multi-year tech roadmap that enables 樱花动漫 to stay on the leading edge of the rapidly evolving Artificial Intelligence landscape and harness the best in class technologies to drive customer benefits.
• Partner closely with business leaders on mission critical projects, starting from a business problem to deliver a comprehensive AI/ML based solution.
• Champion technical excellence and operational rigor.
• Mentor junior team mates helping them to grow their skills and expertise.

Qualifications

• MS / Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics with focus on Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence; equivalent experience will be considered
• 10+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning based solutions that successfully solve challenging customer problems or enable radically new experiences.
• Strong Computer Science / Data Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, data analysis, model training and evaluation, A/B testing, and ongoing model monitoring and maintenance.
• Expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala and modeling frameworks like TensorFlow, Pytorch.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI/Machine Learning especially Large Language Models and associated technologies (like prompt engineering, few-shot learning, supervised fine tuning, …) with focus on Natural Language Understanding and/or Computer Vision.
• Experience with Machine Learning systems on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience and partner effectively with Machine Learning Engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, and Product Development Engineers to build solutions that delight our customers.
